The system also maintains a revision history and supports the insertion of comments to explain changes. Legal Agent operates within Microsoft 365's security, compliance, and governance controls, inheriting the management frameworks that organizations already apply to their legal documents. Legal Agent is available starting today on the Windows desktop version of Word through the Frontier program in the United States. Accessible directly from the agent dropdown menu in Copilot in Word, no installation is required, although a restart of Word may be necessary for it to appear. Microsoft has stated that Legal Agent does not provide legal advice or professional judgment and is not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified legal professional.
